What is Penetration Testing?

Often referred to as "pen testing," it is a simulated cyberattack aimed at identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in a system, network, or application. It is an authorized simulated cyberattack on one or more computer systems, applications, networks or devices. It is performed to evaluate the security of the system under test.

For well-secure companies, the usual solutions will not yield results. Tools for vulnerability assessment, automated assessments or platform based solutions including off-the-shelf attacks and exploits will not be as useful. Effective testing calls for sophisticated assaults by security professionals with great knowledge in this particular subject.
